We’ve been waiting patiently—years, in fact!—for Season Two of Severance. And while we still have a few more months to wait for the follow-up to 2022’s first season, Apple TV+ has graced us with a teaser trailer for the upcoming episodes.
That clip suggests that both the “innie” and “outie” personas of Adam Scott’s character, Mark, are facing dire consequences for trying to unravel the workings of Lumon. In it, we see Mark’s “innie” entering the maze-like bowels of the corporation that split his brain in half. As he runs through Lumon’s labyrinthian halls, he gets flashbacks to reveals from Season One, which I won’t spoil here in case you haven’t seen it yet.
After many befuddling twists and turns, he ends up in a room that contains entirely new cubicle mates! Where did his old mates go? Before we get an answer, we see Milchick (played to disturbing perfection once again by Tramell Tillman) entering with a bunch of balloons (with Mark’s face on them, no less) and make the meta comment that “it’s been a while.”
Yes, Milchick, it has been awhile! And thank Kier the show is almost back.
In addition to Scott and Tillman, Severance stars Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. Season Two will also introduce a new series regular, Sarah Bock. The show comes from creator and writer Dan Erickson, and is directed and executive produced by Ben Stiller.
The second season of Severance will premiere on Apple TV+ on January 17, 2025, with a new episode released every Friday through March 21.
